Entrepreneur. Cocktail and spirit champion. Old world wine provocateur.
This year’s Tales of the Cocktail competition has a Tiki theme! The resurgence of the rum based tiki drink has been underway for some time now. It was just last month that Pete Wells wrote about a “tiki revival” coming to Manhattan and over the past year, we’ve seen a number of tiki spots reemerge from NYC to SF.
So, it’s not surprising that this year’s Tales of the Cocktail is based around a classic Tiki drink, the Planter’s Punch. According to the official competition website, the rules are pretty simple. The drink must include, but doesn’t need to be limited to, the following items: rum, citrus, and sweetener. Any variation therein, and the feeling that I get is the more variation the better, gets you a shot at the first place prize of $1250 in cash plus the honor of having the “official cocktail” of Tales of the Cocktail 2010.
You don’t need to be at the festivities to win. Just click here and follow the rules to enter. Entries must be submitted by February 22, 2010.
